Agricultural Mechanics Academy

Workshop For Agricultural Educators Teaching Mechanics

This intensive ten-day academy is designed to assist beginning agricultural
education instructors who have received little to no training in agricultural
mechanics and feel the need to improve upon their skills and associated
teaching methods. The primary focus is enhancing participants’ knowledge
and skills pertaining to theory and fundamentals, consumable selection and
usage, and applications of small gas engines, electricity, and welding. The
secondary focus is geared toward examining teaching methods/strategies
that increase student participation and comprehension of agricultural
mechanics.

The Academy will be hosted in person by Dr. Ryan Anderson at Texas
State University. Dr. Anderson, Educational Specialists at Briggs &
Stratton and Lincoln Electric will provide the instruction within each of
their disciplines. For additional questions about the workshop, please
contact Ryan at r_a461@txstate.edu.
